John. H. Goldthorpe presents "On sociology: numbers, narratives and integration of research and theory", the first title in the new collectionClásicos Contemporáneos, published by the CIS.

John H. Goldthorpe, one of the most important sociologists of our time José María Maravall, Sociology Professor at the Universidad Complutense of Madrid, and Belén Barreiro, CIS President will be presenting on 15 September "On sociology: numbers, narratives annd integration of research and theory", the first title in the new collection entitled Contemporary Classics, published by the CIS.

The Clásicos Contemporáneos No. 1 collection, jointly published with the BOE, includes works by the most prestigious contemporary sociologists and political experts. This first title, which analyses the differences between social classes and the inequalities in life's opportunities, in social mobility rates and in educational achievement, offers a true guide as to the meaning of doing good sociology.
