Two new CIS publications "Local communities and political participation" and "About Tilly: conflict, power and collective action"
Madrid, Wednesday, November 16, 2011. Within the Monographs collection, the CIS has published "Local communities and political participation" , an analysis of the effect of municipal features on political activism, demonstrating not only its existence, but also that participation It turns out differently depending on who we are, where we live and who we are where we live.
The author, Clemente J. Navarro Yáñez, is an expert on the subject as he directs the Local Government Observatory of the Center for Andalusian Studies, and is also a professor at the Pablo de Olavide University of Seville, where he directs the Center for Sociology and Local Policies.
"About Tilly. Conflict, power and collective action" is part of the Academia collection and is a tribute to the sociologist, historian and political scientist Charles Tilly (1929-2008). Tilly is an essential author for understanding political strife and social conflict.
This work, edited by María Jesús Funes, presents the largest compilation of reflections on her work published to date. The book, of indisputable opportunity, facilitates the understanding of a time marked by intense popular mobilizations in the East and the West.
