Infanta Doña Cristina presents the award to Carlos Moya

Madrid, April 25, 2011. Tomorrow afternoon, Professor Carlos Moya will receive, from the hands of Infanta Doña Cristina, the National Prize for Sociology and Political Science 2010 for a professional career of academic excellence.

Together with both, the Minister of the Presidency, Ramón Jáuregui, the President of the CIS, Ramón Ramos and the President of the Institut d'Estudis Catalans and 2006 National Prize Winner, Salvador Giner, will participate in the event.

Carlos Moya, professor emeritus at UNED, is recognized by all as an intellectual committed to the times in which he lived, a wise man and a teacher, whose crucial role in the institutionalization of sociology in Spain and is valued by the academic community. , especially, his innovative and original contributions in the field of sociological theory and socio-political philosophy. We attach a biographical note.

The Jury that awarded this VIII national prize was made up of the President of the CIS, Ramón Ramos, the former presidents of the institution, Pilar del Castillo and Fernando Vallespín, the President of the Institut d'Estudis Catalans Salvador Giner and the professors Emilio Lamo of Espinosa, Teresa González de la Fe and Juan Luis Paniagua.
