The CIS has presented “De la sociedad española y otras sociedades: Libro homenaje a Amando de Miguel"
Madrid, 28 June. The Centro de Investigaciones Sociológicas (CIS) has presented the work "De la sociedad española y otras sociedades: Libro homenaje a Amando de Miguel"", coordinated by Benjamín García Sanz, Julio Iglesias de Ussel, Jesús Martínez Paricio, Benjamín Oltra and Miguel S. Valles.
The event, held on 27 June in the Salón de Tapices of the Centro de Estudios Políticos y Constitucionales (CEPC), was attended by Félix Requena Santos (President of the CIS), Benigno Pendás García (Director of the CEPC), Julio Iglesias de Ussel (Universidad Complutense), Miguel S. Valles (Universidad Complutense) and Amando de Miguel.
With nearly 40 articles written by prestigious authors from the academic world principally on the subject of sociology, this work pays homage to Amando de Miguel, the Emeritus Professor of Sociology at Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
The work reflects De Miguel’s professional career, who has combined his scientific work such as sociology and his educational work with his role as a commentator and journalist and more than one hundred published works as an author.
Spanning four thematic sections, this publication brings together numerous personal testimonies, as well as academic contributions, which reflect on the essential subject matter of the work of Amando de Miguel, offering an analysis of society in terms of language, communication, demographics and economics, among other subjects.
