66% of Spaniards prefer summer time over winter time
- According to the latest survey on current affairs just carried out by the CIS, 67.1% of citizens want to “end time change”
- 71.6% “strongly agree or agree” that social networks “foster extremist opinions”
- And 55.6% affirm that they never attend religious events held during Holy Week
Madrid, April 5, 2023 . The survey on current affairs carried out by the CIS during the month of March includes some issues such as the time change, Holy Week or the means that Spaniards usually use to obtain information.
Regarding the debate that exists around the time change that takes place twice a year, 67.1% of Spaniards affirm that they want to “end the time change”, compared to 22.2% who prefer “to continue as until now". When asked about time preference, 66% of citizens say they prefer summer time, 23.9% prefer winter time, and 7.3% don't care.
When asking respondents about how they inform themselves and how often they watch political and current affairs news, television continues to be the most in-demand medium. 46.5% of Spaniards watch TV daily to get information, followed by the Internet, since 44.3% indicate that they use digital newspapers to get information daily. 29% listen to the radio every day to get information and the paper press is the least in demand, only 11.1% of Spaniards affirm that they read it daily.
It should be noted that 47.9% of the population considers the Internet “a fundamental source” to be informed of current events, 30.2% consider it “a secondary, but important source” and only 5.4% “not uses the internet as a source of information.”
Regarding social networks, 71.6% of Spaniards “strongly agree or agree” that they “foster extremist opinions.” And only 5% “strongly disagree” with this statement.
Easter
On the occasion of Holy Week, respondents were asked if they usually attend processions. 23% say they “normally attend”, while 38.8% say they “never attend” and another 38% say “sometimes but not regularly”.
Regarding whether they usually attend religious services held during these days, 55.6% say that they “never attend”, 29.9% have attended on some occasion and only 14.2% say that they “normally attend”. ”.
