  • Full Professor of the Wallis Annenberg Chair in Communication Technology and Society at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
  • Distinguished Visiting Professor of Technology and Society, holder of the Marvin and Joanne Grossman Chair at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Distinguished Visiting Professor of Internet Studies at Oxford University.

He is an honorary doctor from 12 universities. Likewise, he is an honorary professor and has received medals of honor from different universities.
