The Expectations Index of Spaniards exceeds 100 points (105.1), with an increase of 12.3 points compared to the previous month

  • The Consumer Confidence Index also rises to 89.3 points in January, 8 more than in December

Madrid, February 9, 2022 . Consumer confidence stands at 89.3 points in January, 8 points more than in December, according to the monthly index of the Center for Sociological Research. This data also improves compared to January 2021, when the index stood at 55.7 points. Furthermore, the Expectations Index of Spaniards reaches 105.1 points, 12.3 more than in the month of December.

The assessment index of the current situation reached 73.6 points in January , with an increase of 3.7 points in relation to that obtained last December. This increase in the index is due to the evolution of three factors: the assessment of the current economic situation improves 1.8 points compared to the previous month, standing at 63.2 points, the assessment of the labor market which gains 5.6 points compared to the previous month as of December, reaching 74.9 points and in the case of the assessment of the situation of households there is an increase of 3.8 points, reaching 82.6 points this January.

The CIS ICC data are based on a representative sample of the Spanish population of 2,806 interviews carried out between January 24 and 29.
